I am soooo ashamed for just now posting this. I was selected to be a JUNE Onyx Box ambassador...It's the end of July...smh. I'm trying y'all.
If you aren't familiar, the ONYX Box is a $25 subscription based, monthly "GIFT" that includes 5 full-sized and/OR deluxe samples of luxury beauty products. Hair, nails, skin, makeup; all dat!
Above is a picture of the box closed. Soooo pretty!
Here's everything that I received; 3 full sized items and 2 samples. Hair, skin and nail products. The packaging was really nice, too. I felt like I was opening a present or gift.
Lotta Body Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk ($4.99): It's super thick and creamy, almost too thick to come out of the pump LOL! It does smell like Coconut, which I am not fond of personally, but the smell is definitely not over-bearing and it dissipates shortly after applying it. I did use it on my hair, but not as instructed for natural hair. I used it as a moisturizer before my stylist braided my hair for a sew-in. Unfortunately, I cannot say whether my hair has the "defined curls, tamed frizz or shine" that it suggests. Will I use it again, once removing my sew-in, yes! I love hair milk on my hair!
Philip B African Shea Butter Shampoo 2oz. ($8): I'll be honest, this is the only product I have not had the chance to use. I wanted to try this on my natural hair to give the most accurate review. Look here for an update soon after I remove my weave LOL.
According to the description, it is a mild cleanser meant for all hair types. It claims to add light-weight moisture to strands, protects color and adds softness and shine. Can't wait to try it!
c. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist ($8): When I say the smell of this stuff makes you want to put it in a cake...it smells so freaking good y'all! I used this on my legs for my birthday. I had on a LBD with freshly shaved legs, feeling all fine LOL! Chile as soon as I stepped out I stopped traffic, in real life! This guy said he saw my legs and had to stop hahaha! (I gave him my number.) *Insert Beyonce laugh here* So yeah, this oil was long lasting, felt great on the skin and made the boys come to the yard! I'll be purchasing this again for sure!
Lauren B Beauty Nail Couture in Rodeo Drive ($18): My favorite product of them all! Why? Because I LOVE nail polish! And, this is some SUPERB polish! One coat was super opaque and creamy. This is the perfect, creamy, shiny red! You can definitely get away with a coat of this without a top coat. I'll be wearing this color probably the entire month of December!
Here's Rodeo Drive on my nails, this is 2 coats over Julep's Oxygen Base Coat and Julep's Polymer Top Coat. Would I purchase this polish in another color? Uh, YEAH!
Herban Body Care All Over Moisturizer in Sweet Ginger ($14): I really wasn't sure how to use this product (this was a sample size) but I used it as a cuticle balm. You can see the sheen it gives in the picture of my nails above. It felt really nice and moisturizing and the smell was lovely! I don't think I'd use this in any other fashion other than as a cuticle balm, well...it'll probably do well on elbows. Would I purchase this? Umm...maybe if I wanted to splurge on something. Nah, this isn't something I'd really reach for. It's nice though!
Thank you, We Are Onyx for choosing me to review your June subscription! My apologies for the tardiness of this blog post. You guys have turned me on to some really wonderful brands and I'll be making purchases for sure! Great branding, products and service. You go Onyx!
