My Easy "Go-To" Makeup Look

Hey y'all!

Whenever I'm kind of in a hurry but I have enough time for eye shadow, this is my go-to look. Always by accident but it's what I like! It's natural, effortless and perfect for an everyday beat! To jazz it up I'd add some liner and a pair of false lashes and be ready for an evening event...if I don't crawl into bed first LOL!  Also, I live for a pretty matte eye shadow look, it just looks so clean to me.

I'm using all Makeup Geek products for my eyes. Her shadows are soooooo pigmented and are approximately $6 each; you can't beat that!

Icy Winter Blues ❄️

Hey!

So I was on the East coast, New Jersey to be specific, ringing in the New Year and experienced a couple of the coldest days of my LIFE! The temp got down to 12 degrees!!!! I was hoping to see snow for the first time but...I'm good, LOL! I don't think I could have handled it, to be honest.

This eye shadow look is inspired by the brutally cold yet gorgeous day I experienced in New Jersey! It's a mixture of gorgeous, icy blues and a nice nude lip. You can watch the tutorial on how to achieve this look here.

Happy Winter! ~Rae

Holiday 2015...Red Lipstick FAIL! 🙄

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are all having a happy and safe holiday with your family and friends! I recorded a YouTube video of this look and had an awful experience with this red lipstick by ColourPop! It's quite funny seeing my reaction LOL! It's such a pretty color and I've used the same color on my clients, but I guess I received a bad formula for my personal one, 😑. Anyway, enjoy the video here if you haven't!

Discounts...

Hey y'all,

This may be a touchy subject for some but it's something that must be discussed. Often I'm asked if I'm offering any discounts or specials for my services. When asked, the answer is, "No." Why? Because it is something I'd like to choose to "offer" at my discretion. Often I will surprise my loyal & repeat clients to a free or discounted service for a special occasion or just because I'm in a giving mood. .

Some may say, "Well I remember when you used to do $40 Friday, why did you stop?" I stopped because I wasn't getting consistent business from it. I seemed to me that the discounted price meant one of 2 things: either my work was not my best because I was tired from being overwhelmed with clients or clients would expect decreased quality because of the price.

Another scenario I run into often, with my bridal/bridal party clients, is a discount expected because of the size of the bridal party. "Well, since I only have 3 bridesmaids can you discount it." Or, "I have 14 bridesmaids, I'm bringing you a lot of business so can I get a discount on my bridal service or can you not charge so much per face?" My answer to that is... I'm still doing the work, so I should be compensated for such. Wouldn't you want to?

I make sure to list all of my pricing with details so you are aware of my cost and whether it coincides with your budget.

This post is not intended to offend. I feel as though there is a sort-of professional standard of etiquette when contacting anyone for a service. If you see an "offer/deal" and want to know more, by all means ask! If not, don't. You wouldn't have contacted the person in the first place if you didn't like their work, in this case. Right? Right.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Date Night Makeup 2014

Hey,

I came up with this Holiday Date Night look with some inspiration from Pinterest. I saw a really pretty, wearable gray smokey eye and wanted to make it festive so I used this gorgeous deep green, Plumage from MAC.
I figured it would be perfect for a date night and/or a holiday party because it's subtle and dramatic at the same time. I went out to Target and to get some lunch and received so many compliments and a few head turns...😉.
Can't wait to do more Christmas/Holiday looks! Thanks for visiting!

Super Basic Brown

Hey peeps!

This "Basic Brown" look didn't really come out the way I imagined but I still liked it. It became something super easy that I can do when I'm pressed for time. So...I guess it was a beautiful mistake LOL!
My main goal with this look was to test out some new products and my new lighting. Can you tell the difference in the lighting??? I purchased a Ring Light and it has been wonderful, now I can do my makeup at night, when I'm bored!
Enjoy the pictures, and I've listed the products used below! Thanks for visiting!

New Video | Matte Eyes & Fall Lips

Hey peeps,

Here's a new video of a nice Fall look! Honestly, I prefer wearing dark lipstick more than any other shade; other than red! I also prefer a great matte eye shadow because it just looks so smooth and crisp on the eyes.

This look is somewhat affordable (as far as shadow goes) because I used a couple of Coastal Scents shadows I got for $.99 a while back.

A list of items used and a picture or 2 are below. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

ONYX BOX: June

Hey Peeps!

I am soooo ashamed for just now posting this. I was selected to be a JUNE Onyx Box ambassador...It's the end of July...smh. I'm trying y'all.

If you aren't familiar, the ONYX Box is a $25 subscription based, monthly "GIFT" that includes 5 full-sized and/OR deluxe samples of luxury beauty products. Hair, nails, skin, makeup; all dat!

Above is a picture of the box closed. Soooo pretty!

Here's everything that I received; 3 full sized items and 2 samples. Hair, skin and nail products. The packaging was really nice, too. I felt like I was opening a present or gift.

Lotta Body Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk ($4.99): It's super thick and creamy, almost too thick to come out of the pump LOL! It does smell like Coconut, which I am not fond of personally, but the smell is definitely not over-bearing and it dissipates shortly after applying it. I did use it on my hair, but not as instructed for natural hair. I used it as a moisturizer before my stylist braided my hair for a sew-in. Unfortunately, I cannot say whether my hair has the "defined curls, tamed frizz or shine" that it suggests. Will I use it again, once removing my sew-in, yes! I love hair milk on my hair!

Philip B African Shea Butter Shampoo 2oz. ($8): I'll be honest, this is the only product I have not had the chance to use. I wanted to try this on my natural hair to give the most accurate review. Look here for an update soon after I remove my weave LOL.
According to the description, it is a mild cleanser meant for all hair types. It claims to add light-weight moisture to strands, protects color and adds softness and shine. Can't wait to try it!

c. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist ($8): When I say the smell of this stuff makes you want to put it in a cake...it smells so freaking good y'all! I used this on my legs for my birthday. I had on a LBD with freshly shaved legs, feeling all fine LOL! Chile as soon as I stepped out I stopped traffic, in real life! This guy said he saw my legs and had to stop hahaha! (I gave him my number.) *Insert Beyonce laugh here* So yeah, this oil was long lasting, felt great on the skin and made the boys come to the yard! I'll be purchasing this again for sure!

Lauren B Beauty Nail Couture in Rodeo Drive ($18): My favorite product of them all! Why? Because I LOVE nail polish! And, this is some SUPERB polish! One coat was super opaque and creamy. This is the perfect, creamy, shiny red! You can definitely get away with a coat of this without a top coat. I'll be wearing this color probably the entire month of December!
Here's Rodeo Drive on my nails, this is 2 coats over Julep's Oxygen Base Coat and Julep's Polymer Top Coat. Would I purchase this polish in another color? Uh, YEAH!

Herban Body Care All Over Moisturizer in Sweet Ginger ($14): I really wasn't sure how to use this product (this was a sample size) but I used it as a cuticle balm. You can see the sheen it gives in the picture of my nails above. It felt really nice and moisturizing and the smell was lovely! I don't think I'd use this in any other fashion other than as a cuticle balm, well...it'll probably do well on elbows. Would I purchase this? Umm...maybe if I wanted to splurge on something. Nah, this isn't something I'd really reach for. It's nice though!

Thank you, We Are Onyx for choosing me to review your June subscription! My apologies for the tardiness of this blog post. You guys have turned me on to some really wonderful brands and I'll be making purchases for sure! Great branding, products and service. You go Onyx!

Did you miss me?

Hey Peeps,

It's been over a year since I posted anything beauty related on my blog. A ton has happened in the last year or so and I couldn't be more excited! Business is great! I'm great! Everything is great! I have a ton of pictures that I need to post here to showcase some work I've done. I look at the pictures until this point and I can definitely see how my work has evolved and improved.

I've been superrrrrr busy as Naturally Glam by Rae has taken off more than I could ever imagine! I'm so grateful to God and my clients for that!

I just wanted to drop in and say, "Hey," and let you know that I've scheduled some time to post about some beauty related stuff, makeup room tour, freelance kit, reviews and whatnot. It is my goal to post the clients I have for the week and also my nails of the week! Yay!

Hey! 👋

You can check out my "Nail Files" by clicking the link I've provided or you can find it next to the "Home" button above. I just posted my nails for this week!  💅

Also, I've created a page for "Referral Services." I have my list written out but I still need to get permission to post others' information. This way, if I'm unavailable and you need a makeup artist or you need a preferred vendor for hair (natural, relaxed, or weave), photography, videography, nails, etc. it'll be all in one place!

I'd like input from you all as well, anything you want to see/know? Ask!

I'm excited!

Peace out.
